The Gambler

Brady Hawkes is a high rolling gambling man traveling up and down the frontier. He thinks he’s seen it all – except, that is, for Jeremiah, the son he never knew. But when Jeremiah writes to him and asks for help with his abusive stepfather, it’s Brady to the rescue, as he sets out to find him in Yuma, California.

Now, Brady boards a train bound for Yuma and meets a man named Billy Montana. If one thing is for sure, it’s that Billy is impetuous and immature…but also brave and loyal. In no time at all, Brady and Billy become good friends.

Billy thinks he’s a professional card player, but he’s got a lot to learn and Brady has a whole lot of wisdom to share. Billy helps Brady steady himself in his quest to save his son in California, and Brady keeps Billy on the straight and narrow when it comes to cards. The two of them make a formidable pair!

In fact, these two fast friends are about to help a damsel in distress, play some high stakes poker, and get into a fight or two on that train. But Brady knows that when this journey to Yuma finally ends, his greatest challenges and trials may lie ahead with his new-found son, Jeremiah.

Will Brady be able to follow the advice that every gambler knows: that the secret to surviving is knowing what to throw away, and knowing what to keep?
