Gelato with a Jolt of Joe!
An ice cream treat that also has rich, deep coffee flavor? Espresso makes this a double dream come true for dessert fans and coffee fans alike!

Cappuccino Gelato
Recipe by author Maria Schulz
Makes about 2 pints = 4 cups

Who needs an ice cream maker when you’ve got this delicious no-churn gelato recipe? Die-hard coffee lovers will love the espresso in this—and so will newcomers to the coffee fan club!

Ingredients
14 oz. can of condensed (NOT evaporated) milk, chilled
2-1/2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons instant espresso powder dissolved in 1/4 cup boiling water 1/3 cup coffee liqueur

Directions
Pour the sweetened condensed evaporated milk into a big bowl and add the dissolved espresso and liqueur. Whip the ingredients together until well mixed. Put into the refrigerator to chill.
Pour the heavy cream into a chilled bowl. Whip the cream on medium for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until peaks start to form. Do NOT over-whip; if you do, you’ll make butter. With a spatula, fold the whipped cream into the cold espresso, and liqueur-flavored sweetened condensed milk. Keep folding it in until completely incorporated. Pour into freezer-safe containers and freeze at least 6 to 8 hours before serving.
