The Pony Express Annual Ride – What Is it?

The Young Riders:

The Pony Express Rides Again

While we wait for our mail carriers to deliver our letters, cards (and advertising flyers!), a group of men, women and teens will carry the mail the old-fashioned way—on horseback!

From June 16 to June 26, 2021, The National Pony Express Association will hold their annual Pony Express Re-ride along The Pony Express National Historic Trail.

Approximately 650 riders will mount up and each will ride one leg, about 2 to 5 miles of the 1,900-mile journey that will take them from California to the final destination in Missouri, riding through Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas, along the way. These riders are not just retracing the steps of the original Pony Express Riders—they’re actually carrying the mail!

Follow the ride at The National Pony Express Association.
