Lost in Paradise (2015)

Lost in Paradise is the ninth and final film of the Jesse Stone movie series. Two years have passed since Jesse returned to Paradise to solve the murders of Police Chief William Butler and Officer Anthony D’Angelo. He’s brought relative peace and calm to the town, but now, living alone after his beloved dog Reggie’s death, he’s itching for a good case to occupy his time and mind. So, he heads to Boston, where he’d previously worked as a consultant. There, he picks up a cold case, a murder that might have been the handiwork of notorious serial killer Richard Steele, known as “The Boston Ripper.” Steele was convicted of three murders; could this be a fourth? Jesse has his doubts and is determined to get to the truth. If the murderer wasn’t Steele, who was it?

Some favorite characters return for this final installment: Lt. Sydney Greenstreet, who has replaced retired Captain Healy as Homicide Commander, Officer Luther "Suitcase" Simpson, Dr. Dix, and Gino Fish. Highlights, besides Selleck’s compelling performance, are Steve, Jesse’s new dog, and a brief but chilling portrayal of The Boston Ripper by the late Luke Perry.

“You live long enough, you have regrets. And the ones that nag at you the most are the ones where you knew you had a choice.” – Jesse Stone
