The Quick and the Dead (1987)

Set in 1876 Wyoming, The Quick and the Dead stars Sam Elliott as Con Vallian, a mysterious stranger who befriends and protects the McKaskels—a family of settlers played by Tom Conti, Kate Capshaw and a young Kenny Morrison—from the nefarious Doc Shabbitt (Matt Clark). Though the movies share a name and genre, this is not to be confused with the 1995 film The Quick and the Dead, starring Sharon Stone, Russell Crowe, Gene Hackman and Leonardo DiCaprio.
