A young cavalry officer arrives at a remote Arizona fort and quickly discovers that book knowledge means little on the frontier. Under a hardened captain still shaped by earlier conflicts, he struggles to adjust, especially as personal tensions build over a shared romantic interest. The uneasy dynamic is tested further when the garrison faces the threat of renegade Native American warriors, forcing both men to put duty before pride.
Starring Richard Boone, George Hamilton, Luana Patten, and Arthur O’Connell, with early turns from Charles Bronson and Richard Chamberlain, the cast gives the story a crisp, character-driven edge.
