After witnessing a violent crime, a wandering ex-army doctor finds himself wrongly suspected and pursued across the frontier. Injured and desperate, he takes refuge with a secluded widow and her son, only to discover that danger is closing in from every direction. As the manhunt intensifies, survival depends on courage, trust and perseverance.
