Drums Along the Mohawk
About
A newly married couple sets out to build a life on the New York frontier, only to find themselves caught in the chaos of the Revolutionary War. As conflict spreads through the Mohawk Valley, their farm and their future are threatened by raids, shifting loyalties, and the constant danger of attack. Through hardship and loss, they must rely on resilience and determination to protect what they’ve built.
Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert bring warmth and urgency to the young couple at the center of the story, grounding the sweeping frontier setting in something deeply personal. Their chemistry carries both the quiet moments and the chaos of war, while Edna May Oliver adds memorable presence in a strong supporting role. Under John Ford’s direction, the performances and scale combine to create a powerful portrait of resilience.
