Doris Day and Peter Graves star! All alone in the Wyoming Territory, young widow Josie Mince struggles to keep her ranch going. Some people believe Josie killed her abusive husband, but she is acquitted of murder. Forced to fend for herself and wanting to get custody of her teenage son back from her father-in-law, she causes a stir by raising sheep instead of cattle and leading the local women to almost riot as they demand better treatment.
