Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman star. American cowboy and sharpshooter, Matt Quigley, takes a high-paying job on an Australian ranch owned by Elliott Marston. Upon his arrival, Quigley gets into a scuffle with a group of rowdy men who are taunting a woman known as Crazy Cora. He soon finds out these are Marston’s henchmen. To make matters worse, he learns his job is to kill Aborigines who live on their ancestral land that borders Marston’s ranch.
Quigley refuses to commit murder, so he quits. Now Marston is out for revenge, and a bitter cat-and-mouse chase ensues, with Marston bent on destroying Quigley and Cora, at all costs.
Why We Like It: “It’s Tom Selleck, what’s not to like?! Selleck is a great leading man, even in Australia! Selleck exudes charm and as a cowboy; he’s a natural. Alan Rickman plays a really good bad guy. Good romantic storyline! The movie has a wonderful soundtrack and the scenery is incredible! An all-around great modern Western!”
