The Shadow Riders (1982)
In the postbellum tale The Shadow Riders, Sam Elliott plays Dal Traven, a Civil War veteran who sided with the South, unlike his brother Mac, (Tom Selleck) who fought for the Union. The brothers must overcome their ideological differences after discovering that other family members—including Dal’s girlfriend, Kate (Katharine Ross)—have been abducted. Their mischievous uncle Black Jack (Ben Johnson) accompanies the brothers on their pursuit.
