Set in 1900, this film follows lumberman Jim Fallon, who exploits a new federal logging law to claim California’s giant redwoods. Initially driven by greed, he faces resistance from a Quaker community protecting the trees. His motives shift when he falls for Alicia, a strong-willed widow, forcing him to confront his own ruthless ways. As rivals and betrayals mount, Fallon must choose between his past and a more honorable future. Douglas delivers a charismatic performance, making Fallon’s transformation all the more compelling in this unique Western.
