About
During the Civil War, a group of Confederate prisoners accepts a chance at freedom by serving alongside Union troops at a remote frontier fort. Although they share a common mission defending the outpost against attacks from Kiowa Native American warriors, distrust and lingering wartime resentments threaten to divide them at every turn.
The cast is led by Joseph Cotten, whose performance as the Confederate commander provides the story’s emotional center. Jeff Chandler, Linda Darnell, and Cornel Wilde add tension, romance, and conflict, helping create a Western that balances military action with deeply personal rivalries.
