About

A peaceful life is shattered when a retired lawman learns that his long-time enemy has escaped from a chain gang and is coming for revenge. With a band of killers at his side, the vengeful outlaw turns the hunt personal, forcing the former lawman back into a fight he hoped was behind him. As the chase intensifies, both men push toward a final showdown fueled by years of hatred.

The tension is driven by the face-off between Charlton Heston and James Coburn, two commanding presences who turn every encounter into a clash of wills. Their rivalry fuels the film from start to finish. Barbara Hershey adds emotional stakes that raise the cost of the conflict. It’s a performance-driven Western where the personalities are just as dangerous as the guns.
