“The symbol of family for all of us, this old house, remained the center of our lives even though we children had moved away.…”

So starts the emotionally moving story of what could be the Walton family’s last Thanksgiving together in their old house. Set in 1963, a tense time in America’s history, the family, too, faces challenges and life-altering decisions.

John-Boy, now a television reporter in New York City, makes plans to head back to the mountain with his girlfriend, Janet. He hopes she will finally make a commitment and agree to marry him.

Ben and his wife, Cindy, have suffered the tragic loss of their daughter and, after two years, are still coming to terms with her death. Cindy wants a family, and suggests adoption, but Ben can’t open his heart to a child that is not his own. On the work front, Ben continues to work with his dad at the mill, and intends to expand and grow the business, but John Sr. is reluctant to accept new ways. Even Ben’s recommendation to buy a new truck to replace the old, unreliable one puts John on the defensive, for fear of losing his authority and the business he built with hard work over long years.

Meanwhile, Jason is still trying for that breakthrough hit song. On the road more than he’s home, his marriage to Toni is becoming strained, especially, with another child on the way. Erin, too, confronts her own relationship issues. Now divorced, she struggles with the decision to start dating again.

As John and Olivia get ready to break ground on the site of their new house, they are overwhelmed with the memories held by each room of their old house and how this Thanksgiving, as the whole family gathers, will be the last in a home that defined their lives. In the midst of all these changes comes the change that will rock the nation: The assassination of John F. Kennedy.

But it’s not all turmoil and heart-wrenching decisions. After decades of running their successful secret business, the illustrious Baldwin sisters are put in jail for brewing The Recipe!

This reunion movie brings together almost the entire cast of the original series, with all the warmth, humor and ultimately, love that can always be found on Walton’s Mountain.
