The story follows Lin Sloan, a reformed outlaw played by Howard Duff, who sets out to capture Black Velvet, a wild stallion roaming the Utah wilderness. His quest intertwines with Lucy Bostel, portrayed by Ann Blyth, a rancher’s spirited daughter who dreams of racing the horse despite her father’s objections.
