Open Range Stars Robert Duvall, Kevin Costner, Annette Benning, and Michael Gambon. This epic Western is an entertaining and moving tale about standing up for what’s right—and following your heart. It’s 1882 in Montana as Boss Spearman heads out to graze cattle on the vast open prairies of the West. His small crew of hired hands consists of a Civil War veteran named Charlie, a younger man named Mose, and a kid called Button. They live simple lives and follow a strict code of honor, discipline, and justice. Charlie reveres Boss’s honesty and character and wishes he could be more like him. On the edge of a small town, they send Mose to pick up supplies. But he doesn’t return, because he’s been badly beaten and thrown in jail. Boss and Charlie manage to free him, but not before being warned to stay away by the corrupt sheriff and a ruthless landowner named Denton Baxter. On their return to camp, they discover that Button has been attacked. His injuries require going back into town to find a doctor. That’s where they meet the doctor’s sister, Sue Barlow—and there’s no denying the mutual attraction that Charlie and Sue share. Soon, a tentative love begins to bloom. Boss and his crew just want to drive their cattle across the open range. They’re not looking for trouble, but a showdown seems inevitable. Charlie tells Sue, “Men are gonna get killed here today, Sue, and I’m gonna kill them.” “Cows is one thing,” Boss Spearman says, “but one man telling another man where he can go in this country is something else.” Forced to defend themselves against seemingly insurmountable odds, Boss and Charlie get ready for the fight of their lives… You may also like...
