In the mid-19th century, a Texas cowboy named Lincoln Costain gets “shanghaied” and put on a ship headed to Hawaii. He jumps overboard and is saved by a 12-year-old boy named Booton MacAvoy. Booton brings him home and introduces Lincoln to his mother, Henrietta. While staying with them, Lincoln hatches a plan to help Henrietta transform her failing potato farm into a profitable cattle ranch.
