INSP Remembers Those We Lost in 2016

As the year comes to a close, it’s natural to look back and reflect on the joys and sorrows we experienced along the way, to learn from mistakes, to celebrate accomplishments—however small—and to reminisce.

Today, we commemorate three INSP fan favorites who passed away this year.

GEORGE KENNEDY

February 18, 1925 – February 28, 2016

INSP fans will recognize him in starring and support roles in many of our shows, including Bonanza, Daniel Boone, The Big Valley, The Virginian, and featured movies, Shenandoah and Cahill, United States Marshal.

Earl Hamner Smile

EARL HAMNER, JR.

July 10, 1923 – March 24, 2016

He was the voice of the older, wiser John-Boy at the beginning and end of each episode of The Waltons, the series he created and wrote, based on his own family and life.

RONNIE CLAIRE EDWARDS

February 9, 1933 – June 14, 2016

Then she was cast on The Waltons, in what was supposed to be the small, limited role of Corabeth, John Walton’s sensitive, but high-strung cousin visiting from Doe Hill. The character proved to be not only immensely popular but also a great catalyst for conflict and drama for the show’s writers.
