Following the tragic death of her husband, Gilbert, a medical doctor during World War II, Anne Shirley Blythe returns to Green Gables to write a play. After discovering a pile of old, hidden letters underneath the floorboard of her old house, Anne reminisces about her haunting life before she came to Green Gables. As she begins a search for her birth father, her journey into her dark past is filled with both happiness and heartache.
