The Inspiration Ministries Announces First-of-Its-Kind Professional Training Institute
UK hosts the Global Media Training Institute (GMTI) in October
Charlotte, NC, USA – The Inspiration Ministries today announced that it is holding a first-of-its-kind training institute to provide professional instruction in all phases of media for the churches and religious organisations. This “Global Media Training Institute” (GMTI) will be held October 24-27, 2007 at Peniel Church in Essex, England.
The announcement was made by David Cerullo, Chairman and CEO of Inspiration Ministries, the parent company of the Inspiration Networks and Inspiration Network International (INI), which is seen throughout the UK on BSkyB and in the Australia/New Zealand market on OptusB3.
“This institute is the beginning of the fulfillment of a longtime dream”, Cerullo said. “Our ministry has a burden to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through media. We have close friends in many nations. For years, we have received requests for our help to train others in media skills and equip them to use the media more effectively. Until now, we simply have not been able to fulfill their requests. It is gratifying finally to be able to respond to these inquiries and provide our first training institute”.
Cerullo said that applications are being received from people throughout the UK and Ireland as well as the continent. “We wish we could accommodate everyone but are forced to limit this first institute to only 200 attendees”.
Cerullo said that the training will focus on both traditional media like television and video, the use of media (for example, through marketing and promotions), as well as new media (including the Internet). Sessions will include the essence of communications, directing and videography, audio and sound processing techniques, scriptwriting and content development, as well as web communications and design. “We will teach theory but the key will be providing practical applications”, Cerullo said. ”Sessions will be applicable to all levels of media familiarity
. This curriculum was developed based on requests and input from churches and religious organizations throughout the region. Through this institute, we will equip everyone who attends and lay the groundwork for a lifetime of continual development and excellence in media”.
Cerullo said that students will be trained by professionals on the cutting edge of media. “We are grateful to have developed a reputation for innovation and excellence in all phases of the media. Our organisation now broadcasts literally to the world through four television networks.
“But we also are leaders in new media with a broadband web site, Inspiration Global (providing broadband video content in French, Spanish, German, and Italian), and Inspiration Mobile, delivering messages to cell phone users across the U.S. and Pan-European region. We also pioneered the first ‘on demand’ inspirational platform for cable television video (Inspiration Video On Demand). Cerullo said that training is a cornerstone of the organisation’s new headquarters and outreach centre, ‘The City of Light, which is under construction in Lancaster County, South Carolina, USA. “When completed, this City will include a state-of-the-art global media production and training facility where people throughout the world will come for training in production, lighting, script-writing, marketing, set design, and all phases of media ministry. But we also will continue to hold training institutes throughout the world”. The next institute is scheduled to be conducted in India in November.
Cerullo said that this institute continues a commitment the ministry has made to provide media training in the market. “In 2006, we held a ‘Maximizing Media’ conference attended by leaders of many major religious organizations and churches in the U.K. Our GMTI continues this commitment”.
