The aid comes as Texans begin long road to recovery.
Indian Land, SC – Texans are slowly being allowed back home, unsure of what they will find in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. The fortunate have a home and will eventually have power restored. Others, like the more than 10,000 Galveston evacuees, are being provided with long-term housing in San Antonio, due in large part to unlivable conditions and continued mandatory evacuations.
Though their story is fading from the media, Inspiration Ministries and humanitarian partner Convoy of Hope will not forget the people of Texas. Residents will have ongoing needs until power is restored and stores and gas stations reopen. Even then, the region will be plagued with cleanup and rebuilding efforts.
Inspiration Ministries and Convoy of Hope already have provided more than 60 loads of relief supplies valued at more than $2 million dollars to the affected region. The organizations are committed to helping the victims of Hurricane Ike through the long road of recovery.

Cerullo also said that relief efforts continue in Louisiana and Mississippi for victims of Hurricane Katrina. “We anticipate the same kinds of long-term needs in Texas will follow Hurricane Ike."
