Indian Land, SC – INSP – The Inspiration Network, the fastest-growing television network in the U.S., today announced the introduction of a new reality TV series targeting youth and young adults called “The Uprising.” The weekly series will debut on Thursday, October 16th at 5:00p.m. EST. The series is produced by Steelroots, one of the leading providers of positive youth content, and one of the few media-based ministries focusing on action sports.

“There’s nothing on television like ‘The Uprising,’” said Bill Airy, COO of INSP’s parent company The Inspiration Networks. “This is content that cuts to the core of contemporary culture.”

Airy explained that the series stars professional skateboarders Jay Haizlip, Christian Hosoi, and Brian Sumner. “Along with other pro athletes, they perform the kind of skate tricks that thrill and amaze audiences coast to coast. But they also take viewers deep behind the scenes, as they interact and share their faith with fans, fellow competitors, and everyday people across the country and skateboard in venues as diverse as skate parks and backyard pools. With gut-level honesty, viewers experience an entirely new side of these action sports figures. They’ll see not just the thrills, but watch them interact with real people who struggle with issues like alcohol, drug addiction, and abuse. We believe that this is an unusually gripping, entertaining, and inspirational program.”

Airy explained that “The Uprising” continues The Inspiration Networks’ commitment to producing shows for every age group in the faith community.

“We are committed to developing new genres and creating new models that serve the broad faith community including the vibrant youth culture,” said Airy. “We think this content has the potential to reshape inspirational programming. And we are able to serve more people, including the teens and young adults with both a strong faith and an interest in action sports.”

Airy also said that “The Uprising” will have a large presence online at www.steelroots.com. “We recognize that Steelroots’ target audience are huge consumers of online content,” said Airy. “Like other Steelroots shows, viewers will be able to watch ‘The Uprising’ online 24/7 along with behind-the-scenes clips that will not be available on the television version of the program. We also will partner with the hosts for online giveaways and other promotions that extend the brand of the series.”

“The Uprising” joins other original programs from Steelroots that include the Christian Hip Hop show “Mixx Master’s Lounge,” the Christian music video show “Steelroots Top 10 Countdown,” “The Steelroots Show,” and specials featuring popular athletes and music artists.
