Ronald V. Shuping
As Executive Vice President of Programming, Ron’s responsibilities include developing new, original programming for INSP, i-Lifetv, and Inspiration Network International. Ron is also charged with creating new content for emerging technologies such as VOD (Video On Demand), our virtual channel Inspiration.net, ipods, and cell phone. He is also responsible for all original programming blocks on INSP-The Inspiration Network that include children’s programming, teen programming, and Saturday night inspirational entertainment. He previously was Vice-President of Programming for the organization.
Ron also is responsible for creating and guiding the successful development of the networks’ main programming franchises, Discovery Jones, Bedbug Bible Gang, Steelroots teen programming, Christian Artist Talent Search (C.A.T.S.), Gospel Music Southern Style, I Gospel, Reel INSP: Movies with a Message, Real Answers documentaries, and other series that are in the planning stages.
Ron also works with other program producers to acquire series and specials that enhance the regular line-up. All these functions work hand-in-hand to improve the programming on the digital network Inspirational Life Television (i-Lifetv).
Prior to joining INSP, Shuping was Director of Production Services for WSOC, the ABC affiliate in Charlotte, part of the team that led the station to new market leader and maintained its winning place. Prior to working at WSOC, Shuping was Vice President of Communications for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. He also was Planning and Development Supervisor for Jefferson-Pilot Communications following work as creative director at Jefferson-Pilot’s WBTV, the CBS affiliate in Charlotte.
Ron has produced and directed magazine programs, children’s programs and other productions. He has been a speaker at conferences and other meetings regarding the need for inspirational programming.
He received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina in radio, television, and motion pictures.
