Indian Land, SC – The Inspiration Networks strengthens their affiliate sales team by adding industry veteran Mark Kang as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Distribution. The announcement was made today by Bill Airy, Chief Strategy Officer.
An accomplished executive with extensive cable experience, Mark comes to Inspiration after successful turns at Sportsman Channel and Court TV (TruTV). “Throughout his career, Mark has effectively negotiated corporate deals, and generated network expansion,” noted Airy. “He has led sales teams that have grown subscriber bases considerably.”
Airy continued, “Inspiration has been experiencing a boom in viewership. Since the launch of our ‘New Day’ programming last year, our overall ratings have more than doubled. More people are watching and staying with INSP longer than many other widely recognized networks. As we continue to expand our already stellar lineup of wholesome family classics, we are confident that this growth pattern will continue. Mark is just the right fit to lead the charge in the distribution arena. He has a proven track record of consistently outperforming his targeted subscriber objectives. We are excited to be able to add one of the industry’s leading sales and marketing professionals to our team.”
Mark Kang has been named one of CableFAX’s “20 to Watch: Rising Stars of Cable;” one of the “Most Influential Minorities in Cable” as well as one of the “Top 100 Executives in Cable Television.” He is the recipient of Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing’s (CTAM) Mark award; and has led groups that have won awards for “Best Affiliate Team;” and “Best Viral Marketing.” Kang holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics from Wheaton College in Illinois. He will split his time between New York and Inspiration’s headquarters in South Carolina.
