INSPIRATION PROGRAMMING TO TARGET CARIBBEAN AUDIENCE
Inspiration’s international feed begins October 18, 2010 on channel 652 on Columbus systems
Indian Land, SC – Beginning Monday, October 18, 2010, The Inspiration Networks begins airing a new programming line-up to Caribbean audiences. Inspiration Network International (INI) is scheduled to replace the current U.S. feed as announced today by Bill Airy, Chief Strategy Officer.
“For many years, INSP was Inspiration’s only television network,” explained Airy. “It was the only way we could serve viewers in the Caribbean region. Then, in January 2005, Inspiration launched a new network: Inspiration Network International (INI). This was a distinct network, not a simulcast of INSP – The Inspiration Network. INI was created to serve the global community outside the U.S., with the best internationally-known ministry programs from the United States as well as other countries.”
Initially, INI was seen primarily in the UK, Middle East, and Europe. But, during the last six years, INI has experienced significant growth, and now can be seen in more than 83 million households in 123 countries, including all of Africa, and in areas of Australia and New Zealand.
Airy continued, “Recently, we began to realize that we might be able to serve the Caribbean community more effectively through INI. While INSP’s schedule is focused on audiences in the United States, INI actually is designed for international audiences, including the Caribbean. In fact, many of the indigenous programmers on INI originate from the African-Caribbean community. Some of the major UK-based ministries are led by pastors who were born in the Caribbean, and long have desired a way to be seen in their native homeland.”
While the line-up on INI is different from INSP, INI carries many of the programmers INSP viewers have come to love. Ministries like Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn, Morris Cerullo, Charles Stanley, Joel Osteen, Keith Moore, Creflo Dollar, James Robison, David & Barbara Cerullo, and more. In addition, through INI, Caribbean viewers now will receive “Discovery Jones Expeditions,” a morning block of Biblically-based children’s programming each Monday through Saturday, AND “Steelroots” an afternoon block of culturally-relevant Christian programming aimed at teens and young adults.
“All in all, this decision allows us to better serve the Caribbean community with additional programming for women, children and teens,” Airy added. “We are excited about this transition!”
