Senior Vice President, Programming

Doug Butts has more than 30 years experience in television production. He began his career as a 35 mm commercial photographer but gradually expanded his skills in a wide variety of production capacities. His passion for directing, producing and editing have landed him in numerous management positions. Prior to joining The Inspiration Networks, he worked with notable high profile entertainers, ministry and commercial clients in network post-production and production facilities. His commitment as a professional media communicator has been recognized through numerous Telly and Angel awards.

In 1994, Butts directed The Inspiration Networks mega-live “Night of Joy” telecast from Disney World in Orlando, FL (at the time the biggest and first live production ever allowed by an external company in the history of that theme park). Following this watershed event, Butts joined The Inspiration Networks as a director, producer and editor.

Since that time, he has overseen more than a thousand programs as executive in charge of production, executive producer and/or director. This includes series such as Gospel Music Southern Style (at the National Quartet Convention), The Singing News Fan Awards, I Gospel, Cheyenne Country,(received “Country Music Fan Award for Best Show”) Muslim Journey to Hope, Speechless, The Danny Fontana Show, Cheyenne Country, The Mark (Lowry) and Kathy (Trocolli) Show, Celebration Series with Greg Long and Think It Thru. He also was the initial director for the networks’ flagship program, Changing the World (now known as “Inspiration Today”). Butts has directed numerous other live and live-to-tape network events such as Jubilate’ with Bill and Gloria Gather, Branson Jam, Stand Up with Fred Travalena, the Celebration Live concert series which featured concerts by main stream CCM artists and numerous network concert events.

Butts currently serves as Senior Vice President, Programming. In this capacity, he is responsible for the overall supervision, creative development, production design and strategy needed to create the award-winning programs that air across The Inspiration Networks’ various media platforms.
